We are a nonprofit organization committed to building a community of photographers. Our work ranges from fine art to documentary, color to black and white, traditional darkroom to digital imaging. We nurture each other’s professional and artistic growth through member activities such as artist talks, portfolio reviews, workshops, salons, and exhibitions.

ArtSpan's Selections
/in Photography Competitions /by Ari SalomonArtists who registered for SF Open Studios in 2007, 2008, and/or 2009 are eligible to submit artwork for Selections, ArtSpan’s biennial juried exhibition. California Modern Gallery, located at 1035 Market Street, will host the Selections 2010 exhibition for two weeks. This exhibition, featuring 20 SF Open Studios artists, is a unique and exciting opportunity to have your work selected by prominent arts professionals and displayed in a gallery setting.

3rd Annual Plastic Camera Show at RayKo Photo Center

The more obsolete, flawed, and lo-tech, the better. Images should be taken with cameras with limited controls, such as Diana, Holga, Lubitel, Lomo, Banner, and Ansco cameras. Frank Espada’s ‘The Puerto Rican Diaspora’

Our founding members spent a year in setting up the legal structure as a nonprofit organization and working with the IRS and State Board over 10 years ago.

In March 2010, in honor of Women’s History Month, Humble Arts Foundation (hafny.org) will present its second edition of 31 Women in Art Photography, a six-week exhibition celebrating 31 of the most innovative women in emerging art photography. The exhibition will be co-curated by Charlotte Cotton and Jon Feinstein, and will take place at Affirmation Arts.
