Rusty Weston is a finalist in FOCUS Photo LA’s Summer/Fall 2023 juried exhibition. The 20 finalists will display their work at Galerie XII in Bergamont Station in LA in mid-November. The jurors, Valerie-Anne Giscard d’Estaing (the gallery owner), Eve Schillio, and Scarlet Cheng, selected “Island/Tunnel” from his series Unnatural World.

Another image from that series, Valley/Burn, is in the online gallery of the 2023 International Juried Exhibition at the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel, opening in mid-December.

The December issue is the fourth edition of the Smartphone Contest, where ten photographic categories are represented. Gene’s images are in the Documentary, Place, and Portrait categories.

Anthony Delgado’s photo “The Inevitable Chair” was selected by juror Shana Lopes for inclusion at the 2023 Center for Photographic Art International Juried Exhibition in Carmel, California.
 
This was one of the 45 images selected for the gallery exhibition from over 2100 entires.
 
The opening and closing dates of the Exhibition will be: December 16, 2023 – January 21, 2024.
 
There will be an opening reception on December 16th from 4-6pm Pacific Time and Shana Lopes will be in attendance and announcing awards during the reception.

“There are certain inevitable facts in Lucha Libre, one being that if a folding chair finds its way to the ring, it will…no, must be used. So it was at a match in Oaxaca. Though the ring was open air and rustic, the players were athletic and skilled at playing out the eternal battle between good and evil.”

Ari Salomon will present an installation of his series 6 Feet Apart as a solo exhibition in conjunction with the Head On photo festival. This typology documents the ubiquitous ground markers directing us all to keep 6 feet apart to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Cindy Stokes in “Quest” at Ginza Kousin Gallery

Cindy Stokes’ photography and paper sculpture is on exhibit in the two-person show Quest at Ginza Kousin Gallery  from August 21-27 in Tokyo, Japan. The exhibition features Stokes’ work along with the paintings and woodblock prints of Yucali Seki.  Both artists are inspired by the beauty and mystery of nature and the exhibited works express various aspects of their lifelong journeys communing with and finding meaning in the natural world.

Ari Salomon at Sanchez Art Center

Ari Salomon will participate in the 15th Annual 50|50 Show from Sept 8 – Oct 9. This is an annual fundraiser where the gallery invites 50 artists to each create a grid of 50 artworks. Each artwork is 6″ square. Juror is Marianna Stark. See Ari’s site for the schedule and links to ticketed and free events.

His work was also recently featured on  Lenscratch as a highlight of the Medium Photo Portfolio Reviews.
