Rusty Weston’s entry selected and awarded first prize in Roma Fotographia Exhibition

Rusty Weston is one of 40 photographers selected to participate in a group exhibition at a Rome gallery in June.  Roma Fotografia selected an image called “The Mission” for a group show at the Bresciani Visual Art Gallery (in Rome) in early June. The jurors awarded the image 1st prize with the promise of a solo exhibition “spread in the galleries, shops, and businesses of Via Giulia” in September/October.

The judges said of the image: “It is innovative, it recalls the web, the graphic dynamics of youth, red and then that lost but not anxious look of those who surf in the dark but with courage.”

The Mission is from Rusty’s new series Reenvisioning featuring portraits of young adults at night in San Francisco.

Ari Salomon at Arc Gallery’s Face to Face Exhibition

His image will be on view on a monitor in the gallery and in both the printed catalog and online.
