5 members at KG+ 2026 “Luminous”
/in Member News /by Ari Salomon5 Members at KG+ 2026 “Luminous”
Bay Area Photographers Collective (BAPC) is proud to share that five of our members will be exhibiting in “Luminous: Lighting the Way” as part of KG+ 2026 in Kyoto, Japan. This is the third time BAPC has participated in the festival.
Presented in collaboration with SAMURAI FOTO, the exhibition brings together 13 Japanese photographers and 5 artists from BAPC in an international exchange centered on photography’s relationship to light.
The participating BAPC members are: Ari Salomon, Gene Dominique, Henry Bowles, Ingo Bork, and Rusty Weston
Drawing from photography’s linguistic roots — photos (light) and graphen (to write) — the exhibition considers how artists “write with light” to reveal insight, illuminate the unseen, and shape perception. Works are organized into thematic strands including Literal Light, Enlightenment & Insight, Light on the Unseen, and Beauty in Simplicity.
This exhibition marks the second chapter in a five-year, five-part curatorial series examining contemporary photographic practice across cultures.
